April showers have ended and I am ready for the summer sun. This April felt like filler, a part of the year that exists between more tangible things. While floating in the liminal space of spring 2025 I did finish eight books that ranged from mediocre to fantastic.
What I read
The books I read this month ranged from three to five stars, meaning I didn’t force myself to finish reading, or DNF a book.
Here is what I read in order of best to worst.
5 Stars
A Deadly Education
Project Hail Mary (re read)
Atonement
4 Stars
The Will of the Many
Inferno
Fahrenheit 451 Graphic Novel
3 Stars
All Systems Red
Count Your Lucky Stars
I rank my books based on a mix of how much fun I had reading them, and how technically good they were. Do I think Atonement is technically a better written book? Yes. But, I did not speed through it in the same way I did A Deadly Education, so it ranks higher.
If you have read any of these books let me know your thoughts!
Reading Stats
As a reader who finishes about two books a week I track multiple aspects of my reading habits to gain better insight into what and How I am reading.
For the books I finished in April, I:
Spent $37.90
Read 2,546 pages
Listened to 3.18 Hours of Audiobooks
Read on my Kobo 57.1% of the time
Read Sci-Fi/Fantasy 62.5% of the time
It is clear I am on a Sci-Fi Fantasy kick right now! Overall I am happy with my reading this month. I read multiple 5 star books and was able to keep the cost of my reading under $40, compared to spending over $80 the month before (Thanks Kobo Daily Deals and Libby <3 ).
